A little volunteer work and an over due visit with friends...

So today I volunteered at the Greek Fest, just for a few hours.  My boss helps organize it through her church and asked a couple of months ago if I wanted to volunteer.  "Sure"  I say at a very comfortable and not swollen in the least at 6 months pregnant.  Fast forward 2 months and things sure have changed.  My body has been completely taken over.  I no longer have ankles, cannot fit into any of my shoes and my fingers are permanently numb.  This does not make for a very good volunteer.  I did the best I could and stuck it out until Tony, Laura, baby Anthony and Shane came to visit me. We enjoyed some delicious greek food and headed home.

Its been a while since we spent time with Tony and Laura so we all met at Outback later for dinner..

Meet the Mom-Mobile!

Finally! Goodbye Scion, Hello Altima!

After much searching, pricing, budgeting and dealing with multiple car salesman......we finally made a decision and bought the 2011 Altima.  I love it, it's just perfect, there is plenty of room for all of us (Savannah included), plenty of room for storage in the trunk, and its a smooth ride.  And most importantly, it has four doors and is not a stick shift! I couldn't be happier with it. Oh and I got just the color I wanted, a pretty pearl white.  Patience pays off, my friends.

2/23/11 The bedding has arrived!

After searching through the gazillions of different crib bedding choices online, I decided on Ladybugs.  I went back and forth with doing something really pretty such as this beautiful paisley print I found My Baby Same Pink Paisley, which I absolutely LOVED.  Then I found the ladybugs Migi Bananafish Ladybugs, which again, I absolutely loved.  In the end I decided to go for more of a "baby" theme, instead of the "pretty" theme.  I'm happy with my choice, although I must say they make it very difficult! There are so too many adorable choices out there.

So I haven't got it set up yet, I just haven't had the time.  But tomorrow Im going to get it all washed and ironed and put together in the crib. Those pictures to come later.

BUSY!

It's been such a busy week and I'm extra tired these days. So the blog has been a little neglected and I still haven't been able to do my videos. I'll get back on track this weekend!

Hope everyone is doing well :)

Long Weekend

My grandparents flew in yesterday; my mom and I went shopping then picked them up at the airport, had dinner then took them  back to their hotel (they are actually staying at the Resort that I work at) made sure they were all settled then headed home.  It was a very long day.  Then today we met them at the Resort and had brunch there, it was so good! We showed grandma around town and did some shopping. We finally made it home around 6 then Ma headed home and Shane's parents stopped by for a visit.  Boy this has been one long day, Im so tired and still haven't had dinner yet....speaking of which, shouldn't Shane be back with our take out by now?  So I had a busy weekend and wish I had just one more day to just relax.  Savannah is making mom very tired these days.  I wasn't able to do my 30 week video today but I will try to do it tomorrow.  Im also planning on doing a video on my experience with PCOS and getting pregnant; for women who are struggling with the same problems I did.  Maybe I can help?  We'll see.....

Here's my "official" 30 week picture....

30 weeks!!

The countdown is on!

My poor hubby has been working on his usual day off (Friday) since he is going to school on the weekends. This is the last weekend though, then he will finally get a well deserved day off.

So I was on my own with the picture taking this morning....

Yes, I'm huge. I know.

Breastfeeding Class

So last night we went to our breastfeeding class. I've gone back and forth with the whole breastfeeding thing for a while now. Ive done a lot of reading on this and know how great it is for the baby and for mom as well. I know about the disease fighting antibodies, (no matter what anyone says formula cannot stand up to that!) all the bonding with the baby, which I plan to do breast or not, and the cost savings. Im also aware of the benefits for mom, you can burn 300-500 calories extra per day!! That is amazing. All that being said, honestly Im not all that jazzed about it. I don't like the idea of my boobs constantly hanging out, (hey, when it comes to the ladies Im a modest kinda girl, keep em covered is my motto) with sore, dry cracked nipples ugh. And honestly the idea of my sweet baby girl suckling on my breast every 2 hours just doesnt thrill me. Im sorry Im just being honest. Even feeling that way about it I still wanted to give it a try, if not for any other reason but how great it will be for Savannah. So I wasnt really dead set on anything until last night. To me the class was just "so-so" , the instructor went over a lot of the things I already read about but it was still helpful and I'm glad we did it.

The best part was having Shane there. Now I won't feel so alone when it comes time to do the job. I really feel like he has a better understanding of it and can help me (well, you know as much as he can) When Im ready to give up he jump right in and say "remember what they said in class, maybe try this?" "or "remember when you wern't paying attention (I tend to drift off ...... a lot) well you should do it this way" I can totally see my hubby jumping right in with his knowledge and support. So now this has turned into a team effort AND Im going to give it the best try that I can. My goal at this point is to breastfeed for at least the first 3 months then go from there. I don't want to put too much pressure on myself about it but Im glad I've finally got a plan.

Wish me luck :)

29 weeks and sick again!

29 weeks!! Whoo-hoo!! As happy as I am to be 29 weeks, I'm not so happy to be sick. Again. I was extremely sick with a bad cold right before Thanksgiving and now again, I feel not so great.  It hasn't been as bad but Ive spent the majority of this week in bed, ugh.  The doctor said its just because there is so many flu viruses going around right now but not to worry, Baby S is fine.  That's what matters!

Wow, its amazing that I only have 11 more weeks until my due date, until I get to meet my daughter.  I can't tell you how happy and excited I am.  Savannah Summer will finally be here! We still have so much to do though, so she can just keep on cookin' (and kickin') :)

Holy Moly!

Shane ended up working today and couldn't take my picture this morning, so I had a little fun with the camera! Enjoy :)
