SkinnyCandi: The Plan

Yep, twenty two, that's how many lovely pounds Ive shed so far.  Three weeks ago I started weighing in every Friday so this morning when I faced the scale I was hoping to have lost 2 lbs to reach my first 20 lb goal, and to my surprise I lost 4 whole lbs!! Things are definitely going in the right direction, Ive lost 22 lbs in just a little over 3 months, I'm under my lowest weight in 10 years and I only have 28 left to go! I never thought I would say only 28 lbs to go.  Before, 28 lbs would seem completely unattainable but now?  I know I can do this, and hell, maybe even go further.  But Im still it taking pound by pound, and day by day.

How am I feeling you ask? Freakin' amazing!! Im feel more confident, I have more energy, I feel happier and honestly I just feel great. Im doing the right thing for myself, something I've always known I should be doing but just never did.  I feel in control of myself and my life and Im loving it.

The plan-  I've talked about my workout plan in past SkinnyCandi posts but what the hell, it's the biggest reason why Im losing weight, so I'll talk about it some more.  I work out Monday through Friday and if I happen to miss a day, I always make it up on Saturday.  5 days a week, no exceptions.  Throughout the week, I do a mix of spin, step and cardio classes (which I love) and treadmill- walking/running and elliptical.  Lastly, I do weights about 3 times a week.  I mostly do arm weights.

Diet- Well, that's where it's not so cut and dry with me.  I do keep track of what I eat on an app called Lose it! But my diet itself is kind of all over the place.  I've cut out fast food which was a big problem for me in the past.  And I do try to eat healthy but some days I won't eat any fruit or some days maybe I wont have any veggies.  Some days I'll miss breakfast all together or maybe dinner (because of my work schedule, I tend to miss a real dinner quite often) I know what I need to do to fix this, is plan ahead! I'll get there.

Extras- I take a daily multi-vitamin - Vitafusion Gummies

Vitafusion MultiVites Gummy Vitamins for Adults Dietary Supplement Berry, Peach & Orange Flavors 150 Each [027917019192]

I drink EAS Carb Control protein shakes (strawberry) a few times a week, as a breakfast meal replacement.  Before working out. They are DE-Lish! Full of vitamins and protein,  low carb and calories.  I love em'

Chocolate Fudge Ready to Drink

I started drinking Green Tea daily about 2 weeks ago, there are many health and weight loss benefits.
Regular old green tea isn't too tasty so I bought Lipton Green Tea Superfruit.  The fruitiness give's it a good flavor and I personally don't need to add sugar but you absolutely could if needed.Red Goji and Raspberry Green Tea Superfruit

Lastly, 3 weeks ago I was very interested in trying a weight loss supplement.  I went to Vitamin world in the mall and spoke with the lady there.  I wasn't looking for some magic pill to make me lose weight, I wanted something that would work well with someone who is working out so much, I needed something to give me a "boost".  She highly recommended L-Carnatine.  L-carnitine is a lysine derivative. Almost all cells in the body contain l-carnitine. This nutrient, produced by the kidneys and liver and stored in the heart, sperm, muscles and brain, helps turn fat into energy.

In taking this for 3 weeks, I have lost 7 lbs.  Maybe this has contributed to that loss and maybe it
hasn't. Before taking it I hadn't lost weight in 2-3 weeks, and had been working out the same.  So not sure, I've only read positive things about so I'm going to continue taking it.  I know it has definitely curved my appetite.

So there you have it, SkinnyCandi is in full effect people :)

Catching up....

So let's see, what's been going on this week?

First, a SkinnyCandi update~ Still doing great! Im so so close to losing my first 20 lbs, just 2 more and Im there! Hoping to reach that goal this week. Please if there is a god, just let me have a 2 lb loss this week ;) I have worked my butt off to lose these first 18 lbs, there has been nothing easy about it and I just keep telling myself, you're going all the way this time...don't give up! I still have a ways to go because after the first 20 lbs is another 30 that I'd like to lose.  Ugh.  I try not to look at it like that though.  I'm honestly just taking it pound by pound and trying to remember how great I feel.  That's so important.  So all is great in the SkinnyCandi department, and I plan on posting a pic once I reach my first 20 lb goal. :)

Next up, Savannah got her first tri-cycle! A friend was getting rid of her son's bike since he had moved up to a "big boy bike" for finishing his potty training. So we got it for amazing deal considering it's in great condition. She's loving it, and this bike is awesome because it has a handle attachment (not shown here) so we can push her and help steer without breaking our backs, it really helps her learn how to pedal too.

Onto Savannah's 2nd Valentines day~

What a difference 1 year makes right?! It really blows my mind when I think about how much she has changed since the day we brought her home, even on a day to day basis! She's like a sponge, learning new things every day.

Since I had to work on Valentines day (night), I made Shane a (delicious) pot roast dinner, scalloped potatoes, cornbread and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, lucky guy huh?

Last update? Potty training. Let the fun begin.  Our approach is just to take it slow with her and not to push or force the issue.  She's not even two yet, so we have plenty of time, plus I know this isnt something that happens over night.  They go at their own pace and if they are not ready you are just making it harder on both of you.  So I bought the potty seat that goes over the real toilet seat.  And about a month ago we just started setting it up for her with the stool so she could get on.  At first, she didn't want anything to do with it.  We would just set her on it with a little positive reinforcement. Slowly but surely she started to show an interest and before we knew it she was getting on by herself with excitement.

Oh and doing her own hair might I add.

So now we just have to work on getting her to actually tell us when she has to go so we can get her to the potty.  We'll get there.

Last week in Pictures

Last Tuesday was Family Night at Chick-fil-a, we made a box for Valentines day cards. Savannah loves stickers so she had fun...  The "playground" which is indoors there is very small and there is usually some crazy kids in there screaming their heads off. Literally.  While the parents sit outside the door doing and saying nothing, so we decided just to take her to the park down the street.

 Yep,  she spotted the park!

Her favorite thing to do at the park is the swings, so I hopped on and swung along with her

Down she goes!

 Our weekly trip to Target

I peeked around the corner to see what she was up to, and this is what I saw.
She's so funny, always putting something on her head,
and getting into something she's not suppose to...

Snapping a few pictures before going to the gym on Wednesday

After the gym on Thursday, I decided to take her to park.  It was gorgeous out!

 I love this picture

at the gym daycare, she's the one hugging the baby doll, of course

Saturday lunch at our usually spot

And her new favorite book, Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb.

Which is read approximately 52 times a day...

Daddy's Vacation and SuperBowl Sunday- Savannah Style

Surprise visit with Mimi at work

Family Breakfast at Mels

That's our kid alright...

Little Miss Superstar...

Back at Mel's later in the week, giving Daddy some sweet kisses

Saturday night, Shane and Savannah went out to dinner for our nephews birthday.  Here she is showing Uncle Mike how to color

Breakfast time before Gym time.... and SO happy about it :)

Superbowl Sunday, and new Sandals.

I had to work this morning so Shane took Savannah over to his moms for a visit then when I got home we went over our friend Tom's for Superbowl festivities....

First time on a bike... and she loved it!

Tom's neighborhood is full of kids, and they were all ready to play!

 On the RUN...

 Say CHEESE!

 Getting ready to go downhill...

 Down she goes!

I thought Mom always said DON'T play ball in the house? No? Just Carol Brady? Ok.

So Shane's vacation comes to end today, and I know he's not ready to go back to work tomorrow.  Poor guy.  All good things (and vacations) must come to an end.

Savannah had a great Superbowl Sunday! Between all the kids, Sadie the dog, toys and bikes galore; she had a blast! And that's all that matters to us :)
