Stay at home mom.....

My last day of work was this past Saturday.  I knew when I took this job that it was seasonal and would end some time in April/May.  Although I knew it was going to end I was still a little bummed when it did.  Not only was the money great, I mean I was making more working 25 hours per week then I was working full time. But also it was really my only break from "mommyland".  If there is one thing that I have learned in being a full time mom for a year is that you need a break.  It doesn't make you a bad parent, it just mean's that you're human.  Even though my "break" meant going to work that was ok, I got to just be myself and have fun.  If you've ever waited tables you know that it can be kind of crazy; different people from all walks of life, which for me and my so called "normal" life was a lot of fun.  I got to meet some great people and made some good friends.  But it's over for now; they said I could come back for next season and I may, it depends on if I find something else in the mean time.

As much as I love the time Savannah and I spend together, I also believe it's healthy for both of us to have some time apart. Even if it's just a few hours here and there.  Working nights, for the most part has worked out perfectly because Shane watches her and they get to have their bonding time.  They both have enjoyed it so much,  I know it has made them extra close. I also think it's great for every father to experience what it's like taking care of their child with no help.  Why should mom be the only one to do that? The only downfall to it has been that Shane and I are on opposite schedules but we made it work, you can't have it all.  Savannah is most important and making sure that she is taken care of by either Shane or myself is the way we want it.

So for now,  I'm just going to enjoy the family time we get to spend together.  And hopefully squeeze in a date night every once in a while; we both need that. :)

I needed a laugh this morning, thought you could use one too......

Funny Confession Ecard: Why yes, I AM a stay at home Mom. How did you know? Did my need to drink my frustrations away, tip you off?

Funny Confession Ecard: I considered being a stay-at-home mom but then I found out the kids would be there too.
