Charlotte's 4 month Update

Things are looking up!!

So Little Charlie Cakes isn't so little, her 4 month check up isn't for another few days but I would guess she's about 15-16 lbs. She's in 6-9 month clothes, and is seriously growing like a weed.  Her and Savannah are already opposites in every way! Savannah was always (and still is) a little peanut. Savannah just keeps getting taller, very tall and skinny that girl of ours. Charlotte's going to be a little chunkster. She smiles all the time, laughs when the mood strikes her, gnaws on her hands all day long, and sleeps through the night wonderfully.  She loves to swing in her swing and play on her little mat.  She started grabbing 2 weeks ago, and is still trying to master it.  Her hair is still dark and thick, although it is definitely lightening up, I have a feeling she will be blond or sandy blond like Savannah.  Her eyes are still piercing blue and beautiful.  She loves Savannah and smiles instantly when her sister starts talking to her. She had her first Halloween, where her and Savannah were a little old couple. She was the grandpa and an adorable one at that!

As for me? Things are great! With the changes in Charlotte, the entire dynamic of the household has changed for the better, therefore my mood is much better.  I started working again about 2 weeks ago.  I was at the country club for almost 3 years.  I started there when Savannah was 6 months old and then started my maternity leave with Charlotte this past May.  I decided not to go back for many reasons.  Although the money was very good, you have work every single holiday, late nights working banquets and weddings, and its almost an hour drive one way.  I made some great friends and really got to know the members well, but it was time for me to move on.  SOooo I started looking for something closer to home and something much more laid back.  I found a serving job at this little pizza place about 20 min away.  Must say I wasn't sure at first, but I am really enjoying it now.  Everything about it is different from working in a CC. The vibe is so laid back and easy going.  They are willing to give me nights only, so I can stay home with the kids and I wont have to work every weekend and none of the big holidays.  Ive literally worked every single holiday since Savannah was born but I wasn't willing to do that anymore. I need to be with my kiddos.  Taking care of my girls and being a wife is most important now, and this job will allow me to do that and make some extra cash on the side.

I will wrap it up with some pics from the past two months. Enjoy!

Savannah is 6 months old!

6 months old already!  Wow.
Well she is definitely a mover and a shaker these days.  That was clear when I was trying to get these pictures yesterday.  She had just woken up from a nap and was in such a good mood but she was all over the place! She was trying to grab the sticker off the blanket, trying to grab at me and the camera, trying to crawl off the chair.  I finally had to call Shane in for back up.  Boy, how she has changed. It makes me think about her 1 month old picture; she was so tiny and so upset with me trying to position her on the chair (couldn't really blame her).  And now she's such a happy little thing and crawling all over the place. It's amazing how much they change in such a short time.  Love. her.

Here's a peek into our "photo shoot"
funny smile
let's try a bow...then she spit up
enter: the toy - then she fell..
everything in the mouth

"screw the toy- i'm coming to get you mommy"
"oh hi daddy"
in walks the pups and she's completely distracted...that ends this photo shoot :)

A Night Out....

.......on the back porch.

Over the weekend after Savannah went to bed we decided to have a little Mommy/Daddy time to ourselves.  Some great music, some good drinks and a lot of laughs.  Just what we needed.

Totally left me hangin'
You can never go wrong with Lionel
Of course we had to bust out one of our favorite soundtracks

Good Times.

Love this....

There are so many mommy blogs out there, I mean there is this entire cyber world full of them! I never knew they existed until I entered into this world myself.  I only wish I had the time to read all of them but that is simply impossible.  Every so often there is one that really catches my attention and even more so a blog post that I fall in love with.  This is from Mrs. Stephanie T.  I started reading her blog when she did a guest post on Jenni from the Blog.  She has a 2 year old little girl named Hallie, who by the way, has just about the sweetest little face ever! Stephanie is an excellent writer and I love the passion she has for her daughter and being a mom.

Reading this made me smile, thanks Mrs. Stephanie T!!

h-bug.

i've been thinking about my little nugget lately. obviously i think about her pretty often no matter what because i'm surrounded by her every day, but even after she goes to sleep i find myself remembering cute moments or funny things that hallie said that day. i miss her when she goes to sleep. i get excited to see her when i wake up. even though she sometimes make me crazy, i look at her and my heart literally wants to burst. when we're leaving to go somewhere, i'll be putting everything in my bag and i'll tell hallie to run and get her shoes please. all of a sudden i hear her little voice go "mommy... shoes" and she politely drops my toms at my feet. she always wants to help me for some reason. her favorite is helping taking things to the trash when i'm cleaning... i know it successfully made it into the can when i hear a distant "hooorrayyy!!" from the kitchen. she gives kisses to everyone, including strange kids at the park {uh, we're going to have to work on that}. she says hello to whoever she sees and tells strangers "bresh you" when they cough or sneeze {didn't mean to rhyme there... but i like it}. the best is when we're walking through target {i would say a store, but let's face it... it's not like we go anywhere else} and she'll randomly squeal, almost cackle, when she's sitting there with her goldfish. she's just a happy kid and smiles at everyone, but when her smile is acknowledged by someone she doesn't know, she gets a little shy and immediately finds my hand to hold. it makes me feel good to know that she feels protected.

i was holding hallie tonight before sleep. {we've gotten into a new routine where she likes to pretend like a baby and have me rock her while we sing "you are my sunshine" then goes and crawls into her bed. hey, whatever works!} she had her head on my shoulder and her little arm up by my neck. i thought of what i would do if she ever went away. i held her a little tighter and a little longer... smelled her into me and nuzzled into her soft skin. i stopped my thoughts from going anywhere sad because i realized i literally would die if anything happened to her. i don't know what i would do.

anyway, i just love my girl and although i have my hard days where i wish i could just disappear for a little bit, i often look at her and know i'd rather be no where else than on the floor playing and laughing with my h-bug.  i cherish those moments. i really do.

1st Time at the Beach

Last night, the Yacht Club in town was having a "Sunset Celebration" event.  There was live music on the beach, arts and crafts and a classic car show.  The weather was PERFECT for a night outside.  The beach is pretty small but it worked for us.

SURPRISE!

Last week I found out my sister was coming for a visit! I was so excited, I've been hoping since Savannah was born that she could make it down to meet her niece and I know she was trying her heart out to do the same.  She, her husband and my niece Maddie moved back to Michigan 3 days after I found out I was pregnant.  It happened so quickly.  We've never lived this far away from each other for this long and it's been hard.  My niece and I were very close and that has also been very hard.  But they are all very happy up there and doing well so we just have to make the best of being apart.

My sister called me last week and said she was able to get a couple of days off work and was coming down- Surprise! So, Shane and I went to pick her up at the Airport- Savannah decked out in her "I love my Aunt" onesie and Shane had the video camera in hand.  Well, my wonderful sister decided to bring Maddie!- Surprise again!  Maddie has grown so much, long beautiful hair and missing teeth to boot!

My mom came down from Sarasota and stayed for a couple days as well.  It was a quick trip but we all got to spend time together and that's what matters.  I took over 100 pictures so enjoy the slideshow of some of my favorites. :)

We interrupt this "Wordless Wednesday" to bring you...

Savannah is officially sitting up on her own  (well, for at least a few seconds anyway)

This was just a few hours ago
And........

We were on the floor playing and all the sudden she was up and she actually crawled a little,  so we got out the camera and she was trying her hardest...

Wow.

Wordless Wednesday

Our favorite kind of night out...

Our favorite kind of night out before would never have consisted of a park or playground.  It was more like going out to our favorite restaurant just in time for happy hour, staying a few hours and spending a lot of money.  Well, not so much anymore.   Now it's all about finding baby friendly things to do with Savannah.  It really is amazing how adaptable you can be.  For years your life is one way and all the sudden it's a new way. But I guess when the new way is something you wanted for so so long, it just feels right. So now life is all about Savannah and doing things with and for her; this is exactly the way it should be. And to tell you the truth,  I'll take a night out at the park over sitting in some stinky bar any day.  (did I really just say that?) ;)

So last night we hit up the local park.....
