Charlotte is here and Im WAY behind!

So not much is going on...just had my second baby girl and life has been completely insane since, that's all.

Charlotte arrived on July 4th at 12:25pm.   My labor started on the 3rd and we ended up going to the hospital around midnight. My labor and delivery was a breeze compared to what I went through the first time around.  After my edidural, they gave me a low dose of pitocin and I went from 5cm to 10 in 1 hour.  Yes 1 hour! I was shocked! I believe I pushed for about an hour and half and... boom.. we had our little girl, Shane got to cut the cord, i got to hold her and cry and stare at her for as long as I wanted.  It was nothing short of amazing.  Our little firecracker baby is a sweetie pie. That is, when she isnt screaming. She has a set of lungs on her and she isnt afraid to use them! I wouldn't consider it colic but probably not far from it.  She has good days and bad so we are definitely still adjusting.  I do think Im getting used to the lack of sleep though.  The first few weeks were pretty tough.

Savannah is doing great as a big sister. I think she finally realized that Charlotte is here to stay.  She is going to school 3 days a week now and doing much much better with it.  The school thing really worked out perfect.  Charlotte takes up so much of my time right now that Im glad Savannah gets to be at school with her friends to have fun and play (and hopefully learn a little too).

Life with 2 little ones is exhausting and takes up every free second we have but all it takes is one of those little smiles and you forget about all the stress in an instant.

Our first month with little sister Charlotte...

Savannah starts School!

Savannah started preschool 2 weeks ago, we planned on starting her when she turned 3 so thats what we did.  She's only going part time, 2 half days a week to start then when little miss arrives we will go to 3 half days.  Today started her 3rd week and she did great when I dropped her off, all smiles! What a relief. It hasnt been that easy since her first day.  She got pretty upset the last few times which really surprised me.  And I surprised myself on her first day when I was bawling in the car after dropping her off.  But we're both adjusted now (so it seems) She seems to enjoy it, the teacher says she does great. It's still strange to be home without her, the house feels empty.  But not for long!

I can't believe my little baby Savannah is 3 years old starting school. It's just crazy.

(I rotated these pictures before uploading and they are still showing up sideways)

After her second day, I took her to cold stone for a ice cream treat :)

8 months and Ready

As of yesterday Im officially 8 months/32 weeks.  I wish that pregnancy was actually 9 months since that would mean I'd be meeting my little girl within 4 weeks.  Nope. Still have 8 weeks to go (give or take).  I feel so big lately that I can actually feel myself "waddleing".  Carpul tunnel has fully kicked in along with my hands, feet and face swelling.  I hate to be that pregnant girl who is always complaining but here I go anyway.... this pregnancy has been hard for many reasons.  Before getting pregnant I had spent the last year losing and maintaining a 35 lb weight loss.  It was the most weight I had ever lost and I really only got to enjoy it for about 6 months.  From the moment I found out I was pregnant, I was showing and the weight packed on fast.  My goal was to continue my work outs throughout my pregnancy but of course that didnt happen because I was so sick through my 16th week.  By the time my nausea ended, it was really hard for me to get back into my routine.  My other excuses? It was peak season at work so we were crazy busy and did I mention I have a toddler to take care of all day? I just didnt have the will power or motivation I needed to continue working out.  So needless to say the 35 lbs are back on and its been so so difficult watchng that scale move back up.  I  know, Im pregnant.  But still my weight has always been a mind game for me so seeing those numbers again so quickly, hurts.

So Im just ready to meet our new little girl a-sap.  And now that Im getting closer to the end, Im starting to get really nervous about giving birth again.  More so than the first time.  The first time I had no idea what to expect, I sure as hell didn't expect to be in labor for 26 hours ending with Savannah having to be assisted out with a vaccum delivery which resulted in her being in NICU for 5 days- completely killing me.  So maybe I am slightly traumatized.  My doctor said because of my complications the first time I could opt for a scheduled C-section.  I said no.  I wanted a normal delivery this time. I want to be able to hold my little girl immediatly after her birth, have her in our room with us and have her leave with us.  BUT now?  I dont know, a scheduled C-section is sounding a little bit better.  I know its just my nerves.

We've started preparing for little miss and boy is it getting "real".  Savannah will be getting her new twin bed soon so we'll be putting the crib back together and turning the guest room into a guest room/playroom.  The girls will share a room.  I'd like them to share a room as long as they're happy to.  My sister and I did and from what I remember, I enjoyed it.

So thats about it on the prego front.

Seriously, 8 more weeks?

3rd Birthday and 3rd Trimester

Savannahs 3rd birthday party was last Sunday the 13th, which happened to be the same day I hit 28 weeks. It was a great day at the park, although it did start to rain a little towards the end.  Savannah had all her family and friends there to celebrate with her so she had a wonderful day and thats all that matters to me

Here we go again....

Since we found out that we are expecting baby girl #2 I decided to get back to blogging.  If for nothing else than to have something to look back on the same way we do with Savannah.

Summer Break with Cousin Maddie

My mom finally made it back from Michigan last week and she brought my niece Maddie back with her.  She's on summer break and my mom wanted to spend a couple of weeks with her and so did we.  The timing was perfect so that Mom and Maddie could join us on our beach vacation next week and we can't wait! We've been staying very busy since they got here last Thursday, the beach, pool, little dippers, Mickey D's etc...

Savannah has loved having Maddie around, there's a 6 year age gap but Maddie is really great with her and they seem to get along perfectly.  Almost makes me want another one, almost.  We are very content with our 3 person family :)

 Leaving the airport
 First stop? Chick-fil-a
Checking out Maddies Ipod

 And wearing Maddies glasses

Maddie brought Savannah a little princess outfit and she was loving it!

 Friday at Little Dippers

Savannah is really doing great with trying to swim

Pretending she's sleeping, trying not to laugh

At the Cape Beach, in the lovely black water.  So gross.  We tried out the pool the next day and it was like bath water in the steaming hot sun.  The kids didn't mind either way but my mom and I couldn't win

At Mel's for Maddies favorite- chocolate chip pancakes and bacon

Mommy in training

Mom took the girls so we went out for a belated bday celebration for Shane

Shane has loved aggravating Maddie and since she wants to look at each picture after we take it, he decided to cut her out..she got him back later when she took a picture of the 3 of us
Ps. Look at how grown up my little girl looks here. ugh.

 Helping me bake a cake

Thought we'd give Ford's Garage a try for dinner last night... way too long of a wait so we ended up some place else

 Acting like a tourist
